The Age of 3D

The power of 3D is currently being utilised in every facet of the entertainment industry. Again. This is not the first time that 3D has been the next big thing. In fact it seems that 3D rears its head every 30 years, dating back to the first time it was used on the big screen back in the 20s. There was then a resurgence in the 50s and the 80s, but each time it was just a fleeting fad.

So what about today? Another 30 years have passed and right on queue 3D is back again. So are we going to see the same imminent demise we have previous times? Well, more so than any other time, it appears that 3D is here to stay. More and more movies than ever before are using it, and the technology and knowledge film makers have to create it is way in advance of anything we have ever had before.

Not only that, but for the first time it is infiltrating many other areas of our lives. Not only do we now have 3D TV but 3D displays are becoming more and more popular with companies all over the world as a way to get their messages across in the most effective way. 3D displays have allowed companies to create a much bigger impact that standard 2D displays by incorporating technology such as Holographic Projection.

Using Holographic Projection you can create almost any marketing media you need, from wholly interactive media through to simple displays or speeches given by well-known faces in the most realistic way possible.

So now, for the first time it is not just entertainment that is utilising all the great benefits of 3D, but now almost every industry is looking into how 3D technology can help them. So rather than being a fad this time, it looks like we have just entered the age of 3D.

Doing A Blue Ray DVD Comparison

A lot of people are still not aware of what the differences between a DVD and blue ray player are, and if you find that you are in this situation where you are wondering what the big deal is about a blue ray HD DVD is and why you would want to make the upgrade yourself, then there are a few things that you will want to take into consideration here.

Deal Of The Day

The Big Picture

There are a few really distinct differences that you will see when you do a blue ray DVD comparison. For one thing when you do a blue ray DVD comparison you will note that there is much more memory space available on a blue ray disc. This is a huge advantage because then instead of having to use four or five different DVDs to record something, you can just use one.

Especially for photos and long movies, rather than having to deal with two when you rent your favorite movie, as you see when you do a blue ray DVD comparison, you will only need the one. The difference in storage capacity is definitely one of the most major differences between the two formats, and one that has made the most people make up their mind about why they want to change to blue ray players.

As well when you do a blue ray DVD comparison you are going to see that there is a much better picture quality with the blue ray format. This is because the blue ray format is so much more advanced. Especially if you have a big screen television you are going to be able to see the big picture, see all the differences and how much better and more realistic the picture quality on the blue ray discs is.

The main problem is that a lot of people do not take the time to do a blue ray DVD comparison and so they are not able to understand what this blue ray technology is and what it has to offer. It is basically like what DVD was to our parents when it first came out. They had no idea and they were used to the VHS format and now to us VHS format is like ancient times. It is really amazing how much technology is advancing, and if you really want to stay ahead of the pack, get a blue ray player.

A HDMI Splitter helps in broadcasting uncompressed high definition digital (HDD) video signals from a source device to two or more HDMI display devices. Both audio as well as video signals are supported by this device. It is capable of handling signals from DVD players, Digital Cable boxes, Game Consoles, Computers or A/V Receiver devices with HDMI interfaces. A key feature of this splitter unit is that it enables simultaneous display and allows for switching inputs between two or more HDMI sources. Control can be exercised by its front-panel manual push buttons, or IR remote.

Capable of supporting multiple resolutions, this video splitter delivers sharp clear digital signal supporting HDTV resolutions ranging from 720i, 720p, 1080i to 1080p and computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. Easy to set up, this device operates with plug and play functionality and can be installed quickly. All a user needs to do is to connect the splitter using a HDMI cable from the sources and then connect it to the HDMI outputs. Compact in size, this device is HDCP, CE, FCC and RoHS compliant.

TigerDirect

An advantage of using this device is that it uses a single cable instead of several cables when connecting input sources with HDMI output to your HDTV display. These HDMI Splitters are backward compatible with DVI-D and are different than the latter since they incorporate a form of content security known as High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) and support both audio and video signals at the same time whereas DVI is limited to only video. Video amplifier bandwidths of up to 2.25Gpbs/225MHz are supported by these units. This device is available in many models ranging from 1×2, 1×4, 1×8, 2×2, 2×8 and 4×4 input/output combinations. These splitters have successfully adapted to consumers’ needs as they provide two main advantages: improvement in picture quality and freedom from the use of many cables.

The HDMI Splitter unit is perfect for home theaters, digital signage applications, casinos, classrooms, control rooms, conference rooms, remote monitoring and training facilities.

How To Buy A Plasma Tv?

To buy a plasma TV you have to first determine what you need. You should consider some important aspects pertaining to plasma TVs before purchasing one. Do not choose a plasma TV based on the brand alone. Each brand of Plasma TV’s has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Listed below are some useful tips on plasma TVs that can clear up some of the confusion that might arise after looking at a number of brands and varieties.

Glare
Choose a plasma TV only if you are going to place it in a dark room. Plasma TVs have a shiny surface. If you place them in a room that is bright your TV viewing experience will not be as good as it could be. The glare from the surroundings may be reflected while you are watching TV.

Resolution
You should decide on the lines of resolution. Choose between 720 or 1080 vertical lines of resolution. If you receive HD TV signals or if you have a Blu-ray player at home, consider 1080p. If you wish to see the different, go to a retailer with a Blu-ray disc or an HD DVD and ask for a demo. You should have both types of TVs placed side by side. This will enable you to tell the difference.

Contrast Ratio
The contrast ratio specifications are an important consideration. A plasma TV with a high contrast ratio is likely to produce more realistic images. The lowest contrast ratios available are 800:1. The newer varieties of plasma TVs offer contrast ratios as high as 30,000:1. A higher rate of contrast will display true blacks in the picture you see on screen. Low contrast ratios will not.

Refresh Rate
If you have a home cinema, it is suggested that you select a plasma screen TV over an LCD television. LCD TVs have a refresh rate of 60 hertz or 120 hertz. In contrast, plasma TVs have a refresh rate of 480 hertz. A higher refresh rate will result in reduced blurring in high intensity scenes with fog, waves or smoke.

Distance
Determine the right viewing distance and choose the size of your plasma TV screen accordingly. If your viewing distance is 6 to 10 feet, you should buy a TV screen that is 32 to 37 inches in size. At a distance of 10 to 14 feet, choose a plasma TV that is 42 to 46 inches in size. Plasma TVs that are 50 inches and larger are recommended for a distance of 12 to 15 feet from the screen to the viewer. For a screen size that exceeds 60 inches you need to be more than 15 feet away from the screen.

Audio
You have to consider your audio options carefully. You can choose quality speakers that are incorporated into the TV itself or buy them separately. Some manufacturers offer optional audio features that can be attached to the sides. Alternatively, other options could include bookshelf or satellite speakers. For this you will have to buy an amplifier or receiver setup as well.

Choice
Choose the features of your plasma TV based on those you are likely to use. Consumer sets will have a higher number of features, aesthetic looking bodies and promising warranties. Commercial sets provide better picture quality but may lack features.

So, before you commit to a TV purchase, consider glare, resolution, contrast ratio, refresh rate, audio options and the distance you will be sitting from the screen. Do not ignore these important aspects when choosing plasma TVs.
