Is there a way to download video from a camcorder that has coax outputs to a PC and convert it to mpeg/wmv fil?

I am trying to find out if there are any programs or cables that I can use to download a video to a PC from a camcorder. The camcorder has standard coax outputs and the manufacturer (JVC) does not carry anything to support this. If anybody out there has a solution please let me know, I am not looking for anything that is very pricey, just something simple enough to get the job done to help my daughter with her school work.

What is the best digital Video Camera For my needs?

If money is not much of a problem, what is the best digital video camera out there to be able to record high quality and rip it to the computer digitally instead of recording onto a tape and having to watch the entire recording. No power after short outage; fuse? charger?

I have a westinghouse 19" model ltv-19w3 that simply wont turn on any more. The problem started after a brief power outage. There is no sign of life, no lights of any kind that come on. I have tried switching outlets with no success. The power adapter has a single light on it that isn't coming on. I don't know if this is simply because the tv is not cooperating or if it is simply supposed to come on when started. What is standard with regards to that?
