What can i do to make my laptop faster?

I hav a toshiba satellite a215-s7437 laptop, what can i do to make it run faster and multi-task better? i realize that i dont own an amazing laptop but what can i do to help? Can i add Ram? and if so HOW MUCH ram? and what else can i do? Thanks.
Also i own a 500gb external hardrive that i keep everything on so my laptops harddrive is empty as possible.
i hav Vista.

More RAM is the easy answer. You don’t state what OS you are running, but assuming it is XP, you can have up to 4GB as long as your motherboard supports it.

is it possible to change a PAL system to multi-region?

i have a Sony DAV-DZ630 – DVD 5.1 Home Cinema System – With HDMI & 1080i Upscaling which i just realised will only work with certain DVDs. i was wondering if i could change it to accept all DVDs? i was told that it needs to be a multi-system. how do i go about it?

There are various websites out there who will charge you a fee to send you an unlock code for your DVD player. I heard Amazon do them. You’ll have to put in the exact make and model of your player and they’ll tell you if it can be “unlocked”.
